All this Paul Ryan nonsense has officially elevated Conservatives to the position of least liked of the two party dichotomy. You’re all as deluded as the left.
I’ve always said, I have a harder time with neo-con, Bush-era Republicans than I do with liberals.
Really because I’m the opposite
Because we haven’t deluded ourselves into thinking voting outside the two party system matters? I’ll admit, I’m not super fangirl over the Paul Ryan thing. I had someone in mind I felt would be a better person for the job, same for the Presidential nomination. Just want to get all of y’alls thought process on this situation. Call me devil’s advocate.
I like you, killthetraitor, you seem to have become more libertarian through your time on tumblr. That makes me happy, so I’m going to try to help illustrate my thought process.
Everything that is wrong in this country (or the world) can be traced to a problem associated with the two parties. It is merely an illusion of choice. The Federal Reserve, bank bailouts, the war on drugs, Obamacare, indefinite detention, targeted assassinations, warrantless spying, drone use, paramilitary police raids, foreign intervention, secret wars, control of the Internet and limitations of freedom of speech are all bipartisan policies. We can only assume that the next president (even if it’s Obama’s second term) will likely be worse in every single one of the above areas. Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are identical with regards to these policies. They might differ a few percentage points on how much money they should steal from you and they may differ slightly on which level of government should write marriage laws, but they are fundamentally identical where it matters.
I am voting not to be complicit to these acts. I am withdrawing my consent by not voting. I hope this helps.
